Last week, Pitney Bowes announced that they will be using the EMC Captiva intelligent enterprise capture products as its document and data capture technology for both hosted and on-premise offerings. You can read the entire press release here.
What this partnership further reinforces is the ongoing demand for companies wanting to digitize their paper. Paper is still a necessary evil for many businesses, and it is something companies are still trying to get control of.
This partnership also now gives companies different options of getting there – deploy capture internally, take advantage of the EMC OnDemand offering (see the EMC announcement), or look to partners like Pitney Bowes Management Services to provide it as a service. Different options backed up with great underlying technology.
Very exciting.
