10,000+ to Attend EMC World This Year

EMC World 2011 kicks next week (May 9th – 12th) and EMC expects over 10,000 attendees.   There will be more than 500 breakout sessions, more than 100 hands-on labs and exhibits from 100 of the leading IT vendors.

EMC World is also host to Momentum, the industry’s largest gathering of enterprise content management experts.   Momentum at EMC World will offer more than 100 breakout sessions along with 30+ customer sessions.

In all there is a lot of great topics (both business and technical) being discussed.  In the EMC Captiva track, we have 16 sessions plus two hands-on labs.  Many of these sessions get into the technical details of the product which I know many of the attendees like to see. In fact this year we have two hands-on labs, one of which is focused on the EMC Captiva Dispatcher product. The Dispatcher hands-on lab is 2 hours, so there will be plenty of time to really dig in and try out the new 6.5 capabilities around document auto learning. For those of you who have not experienced Dispatcher before, this a good opportunity to see what it can do and how it really takes capture to the next level in terms of automation.

There are also several sessions dedicated to EMC customers speaking on their experiences and use of various EMC products.  Some great customer stories are being presented along with a few that are more technical oriented. For example, one EMC Captiva customer is presenting on how they customized Captiva by building several custom import modules. So if you are a developer, who  has been wanting to learn more on how to build custom modules using the InputAccel 6.x SDK, than this session is for you.

A lot more is going on at EMC World, and I’ll try to post as often as possible as the event plays out. I’ll just need to find time in between the sessions I’m presenting, customer/partner meetings, and staffing our booth.
